The Treat Trove August 2016 review

Another fantastic box this month from the Treat Trove! Was really excited when I arrived home from work today and saw the tell-tale white of my monthly Treat Trove box. I opened it up to see that they have a really cute new introduction/thank you card which looks almost like a watercolour and is a really nice touch to the box. It also makes finding their details a lot easier.IMG_1646

On to the contents of this box, the first treasures are the lovely pads that were included. A really nicely sized TCS Eco pad that as I’m sure you’ve all realized from my review of their products; I absolutely love. I’ve been searching for some longer pads as I’m a bit short of pads that I can wear overnight and this one is around 10” so it’s perfect for either an overnight or daytime pad. I just need more heavy pads now. There are a few places you can purchase these pads so here are the links: https://www.facebook.com/ecotcs/?fref=ts

The second pad was from a maker I had never heard of before, Fluffy Elf. I am in love with the print (which is saying something because I normally dislike yellow) the placement and the butterflies are so pretty I almost don’t want to use it. It’s a bit longer then my usual lights/liners are and I’m not sure how it will work for me but I can’t wait to try it out on my next cycle. Please go and check Fluffy Elf out on Facebook, she has some great fabrics and a really good range of sizes: https://www.facebook.com/Thefluffyelf/?fref=ts

Two very good quality pads this month that I love and can’t wait to use. I know they also have Huggally Wuggally pads on their website at the moment as well so I highly recommend those a well!

Now on to the extra goodies, the first of which is by the awesome Cinnamon Designs that also made the little phone/purse charm that I loved in the previous box. This time it’s a little handmade love heart ornament that I’m going to take to Uni with me to hang on my overly boring noticeboard. It’s very delicate but well-made and very pretty. Doesn’t quite beat the charm, but that’s only because I really like the charm, it’s on my Harry Potter purse that I bought from Phoenix Rising Reusables. Please check out her Facebook group as she makes some amazing things: https://www.facebook.com/cinnamondesigns2/?fref=ts

There is a cute little inspirational magnet/frame that was a nice thought, it says ‘Never let go of your dreams’ which is perfect for a student. I’m not sure where this is from so if I find out I’ll make sure to add it in to the review.

There was a lovely little bath bomb in the box as well, unfortunately I don’t have a bath and so I’m going to use it as a foot soak because it smells really good. Was thinking of giving it to someone as a gift but then I decided to be selfish and keep it all for myself. Its Lavender scented which is one of my favourite scents, but it’s not really strong, just faintly scented so it won’t give me a headache which is brilliant. Also I love the name of the maker, ‘Ugly Apples’ what a brilliant name! I found their Facebook page and they do a great range of products so please take a look and see what you think: https://www.facebook.com/Uglyapples/IMG_1651

The final item was the much anticipated snack item. Love getting snacks in these boxes, I also love the fact that this box supports local businesses even with the snacks they include. This time it was a chocolate covered Oreo biscuit. It looks really nice with the striped pattern on the front. I’m not really a fan of Oreo’s or dark chocolate in general but I happily tried this one out and…yeah still not an Oreo fan. I think they taste like burnt biscuit. Great idea though and I would have loved it even more if it wasn’t Oreo based. I’ve had a chocolate lollie from the ‘Just Choc’ store before and they do some really tasty and creamy chocolate so for all the chocoholics that are reading, the link is: https://www.facebook.com/justchocshop/

I really enjoyed this box as I hope this review shows. The quality of the boxes seems to get better every month. This is unfortunately my last box now until Christmas as my funds are a bit short now that I’m heading back to University and so I ask you all to share pictures of your boxes with me. Also please go and buy the boxes so I can live vicariously through you all! I’ll miss doing these monthly reviews but I’m hoping to pick back up as soon as I can.

Thank you all for reading! Please let me know how you liked your own boxes!
